In 1984 the state mandate added a required remedial leading lab, and the 1987 federal requirement for pre-school handicapped classes requires one-half of a divided room for instruction.
Local decisions not state mandates, however, increased many space demands. Spanish is now being offered at RCHS besides French. RCES and RCHS each have a computer lab. And RCES now has both an instrumental music room and an art room and Chapter I remedial math and reading labs (each require 1/2 room).
