state grant. Shaffer said he had been in Richmond at the state library last week and they approved the proposed budget and said the amount for state aid should be fairly accurate.
The proposed budget will now go to the Rappahannock Board of Supervisors.
In other board business: The election of officers to the board for 1998 was decided. Warner was elected president; Charlotte Nichols was elected vice president; Helen Platt was re-elected treasurer; and John Hartline will continue as secretary.
Warner said, “I would not be truthful if I did not say I feel somewhat humbled by your trust in me. I’m sure I will call on you (all) for* assistance and I will solicit your trust and support as we go along.”
