Some might describe winter as a barren season. Most of our trees, such a short time ago clothed in greenery, stand naked. All of the gorgeous gardens of summer have been cut down by the first frost. But wait... there are the evergreens.
Though the snow may pile deep and the blizzard winds blow frigid, the evergreens flaunt their vibrant color, perhaps more beautiful even than in the summer when there is so much competition. They stand regally, some with bright red and orange berries...others with sweeping branches which seem to reach out to enfold us. God must have planned it so.
Perhaps the evergreen can be an inspiration to us. When life leaves us cold, we can look to God.
Worship this week and remember the evergreen.
