Cooking class to begin

Healing Arts activities
The following activities will be held at Rappahannock Healing Arts Center located in Sperryville. '
Yoga classes will be held Jan. 29 at 9:30 a.m. and Feb. 2 at 5 p.m. A herb clinic will be held Feb. 4 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. For more information on these and other activities at Healing Arts call 987-7204.
Camp for Cloverbuds scheduled
Youth ages five to eight can learn how to safely protect their families and themselves at the District 4-H Cloverbud Camp: “It’s a Safe World after All,” March 1415. Hands-on activities with a focus on safety will help youth develop ways to protect themselves in the home and in the community.
Classes will include fire and safety precautions; simple first aid and emergency know-how; and D.A.R.E. program materials. Special events will highlight the weekend including a field trip to the National Zoological Park’s Conservation and Research Center.
The cost of the weekend is $40 which includes meals and lodging. Parents may participate with their child in this event, but need to register in advance at the same cost. The registration is first come, first served and 70 spaces are available. The camp will be held at the Northern Virginia 4-H Center in Front Royal, Virginia.
Adult and teen volunteers are being recruited. Applications are available from your local Extension Office now, and need to be completed and received by the Nprthem Virginia 4-H Education Center by Feb. 6. All volunteers will be required to attend a training on Friday, March 13, from 7 to 10 p.m. For more information contact Hazel Zinn-Day at 675-3619.
