Eliza Woodward

Born at Boston

Eliza Baldwin Woodward, 93, of Culpeper, died Monday, Jan. 19.

Mrs. Woodward was born Sept. 18, 1904, in Boston, Va. to the late Marshall Denton Baldwin and Mary Frances Shotwell Baldwin.

Mrs. Woodward is survived by one daughter and her husband, Mary W. and Thomas Lillard of Brightwood and one son-in-law Howard N. Haynes of Culpeper.

She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.

Additional survivors include three brothers George Baldwin of Spotsylvania, Frank Baldwin of Culpeper and Thomas Baldwin of Rappahannock.

Mrs. Woodward was preceded in death by her husband, Ira William Woodward; three daughters and two sonin-laws Annie W. Haynes, Flossie W. and Elwood Pullen and Helen W. and William F. Gore; two sisters, Emma B. Durham and Etner B. Durham; two brothers Joe Baldwin and Russell Baldwin and one great granddaughter, Rhonda E. Alvey. .

Funeral services were held Friday, Jan. 23 at Found & Sons Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Charles Shifflett officiating.

Pallbearers were Wayne Baldwin, Don Pullen, Gregory I Pullen, Gordon Pullen, Lawrence Pullen, Frank ' Pullen, Thomas M. Lillard and ' James E. Hockman.

Memorial contributions may be made to Bethel Baptist Church.

Myrtle Powell

Middletown resident

Myrtle Geneva Powell, 65, of Middletown died Saturday, Jan. 24 in the Winchester Medical Center in Winchester.

Mrs. Powell was bom Feb. 6, 1932, in Shenandoah, the daughter of the late John L. and Nellie Elizabeth Comer Kite.

She was married to Robert B. Powell Sr. on Aug. 14, 1950 in Hagerstown, Md. She was a member of the Landmark Tabernacle Church in Front Royal.
