Wakefield teachers and finds the commute through the rural countryside “exhilarating.
Describing Wakefield as a “warm, small school,” he says it offered him a “chance to mix teaching Latin and Greek with 8th grade English.” His goal is “to teach as effectively as I can as long a I can.”
He enjoys helping the students prepare for the national level competitions, particularly the National Mythology and National Latin examinations and is the faculty adviser for the Wakefield Latin Club.
Under his and McMahon’s combined coaching 10 students from the school’s Junior Classical League won 30 awards in Latin language, literature, Roman history and geography, mythology and other classical subjects.
