Coach Jason Gochenour said McLear played well but overall he was disappointed with the teams performance even though they pulled off the win.
“Because of exams we were not allowed to practice and their performance is understandable since we haven’t practiced for over a week.” He said the teams shooting percentage was poor and • they shot poorly from the field.
The junior varsity led most of the first half and was up by as much as nine points during the third quarter.
It was in the fourth quarter though that the excitement really peaked.
Rappahannock had led easily throughout the quarter but with 2:44 left Manassas Park seemed suddenly electrified and the score went from 33/24 to 33/32 with :50 seconds left.
The crowd for both teams were on their feet and it was Rappahannock’s ball.
