Workshop rescheduled
The 4-H Presentation Workshop is rescheduled for Thursday, Feb. 5 and Thursday, Feb. 12 after school at the Extension Office. This two day workshop will be presented by Mrs. Joan Proctor. 4-H’ers will learn from this very motivational and entertaining instructor how to give a presentation or demonstration for competition in the 4-H program. Giving presentations or demonstrations helps young people with public speaking and gives them the self esteem to express their knowledge about a particular subject in a constructive and teaching manner. Call the office at 6753619 the day before the workshop if you plan to attend.
Black History program slated
The George Washington Carver Regional High School Alumni Association, Inc. invites you to attend their second Black History program at Carver-Piedmont on Sunday, Feb. 15 at 4 p.m. For more information contact Bobby Wilson at 825-0994.
Winter camp scheduled
A 4-H Winter Camp for 4-H’ers with previous camping experience, ages 9-13 will be held at the Northern Virginia 4-H Educational Center in Front Royal, Feb. 20-22. 4H’ers from Culpeper and Shenandoah will also be participating. The theme is “Holidays” and the cost for the weekend is $63. Registration is due in the office by Feb. 6. There will be a need for teen and adult volunteer leadership. Wakefield open house
Wakefield School will host an admissions open house on Sunday, Feb. 1 at 2 p.m. The public and especially prospective students and their parents, are invited. Wakefield is an independent day school with a pre-kindergarten through 12th grade curriculum for 290 boys and girlg. The school is located one half mile north of 1-66, exit 31 at 4439 Old Tavern Road, The Plains. For more information call 253-5393.
