Robert B. Powell Jr. of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., John D. Powell of Winchester and James K. Powell of Stephens City; five daughters Diana L. Williams and Sue E. Grigsby, both of Chester Gap, Robin L. McDonald of Front Royal, Gladys Elizabeth Witt of Winchester and Rebekah A. Brentner of Mississippi; 19 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Also surviving are five brothers George Kite, Karl Kite, Bobby Kite and Ray Kite, all of Richmond and James Kite of Front Royal and four sisters Velma Merica of Remington, Artie Burkholder of Harrisonburg, Ruth Chrisman and Sue Pearson, both of Front Royal.
Funeral services were held at the Landmark Tabernacle Church in Front Royal on Tuesday, Jan. 27 with the Rev. Ronnie Rose, Rev. Paul Markee, Rev. Lindsay Savage and Rev. James Gheen.
Burial was in the Shenandoah Memorial Park in Winchester,
Pallbearers were Robert B. Powell III, Steven R. Powell, Ray L. Burke Jr., Jerry McDonald III, Terry A. McDonald and James J. Coverston.
Honorary pallbearers were Rev. Albert Kling, Rev. Samuel Finley, Rev. James Kite, Rev. Gene Kite, Owen Savage and Melvin Baker.
Turner-Robertshaw Funeral Home in Front Royal was in charge of the arrangements.
