Our community has been saddened by the death of Mrs. Betty Jane Dodson Kilby, wife of James (Jim) Kilby who passed away at her home on Saturday and was laid to rest in Fairview Cemetery on Tuesday. Our condolences are with the family.
Four local young students of Rappahannock High School, Jack Corbin, Drew Dennis, Jeffery Hudson and Andrew Clinedinst were involved in a truck accident Friday afternoon. We are happy to announce none were seriously hurt, even though our prayers are for speedy recoveries.
Among those from our area attending the Singing and Picking party at the Salem Fire Hall on Friday evening were Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Cave, Miss Peggy Fincham, Ms. Charlotte Gaines, Mr. and Mrs. Jackie Sisk, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Thornhill and Mr. and Mrs. Earl Jewell. As usual imitator “Dolly Parton” was present and rendered her song, “Brown Eyes.”
Jeff Light, impersonating George Washington made his rounds through the crowds giving out literature, reminding and inviting everyone to the Woodville Festival which is scheduled for Saturday beginning at noon.
