"My feet hurt for quite o few days because, you know, I waked to Virginia,* says Lady Luck, reminiscing about her first trip to the Commonwealth. *1 Ad get a couple of lifts here and there, but it was heavy going there for a while walking in those high-heeled shoes. And, of course, I had that heavy cart full of all my stuff.... You know, afl my extra wands. Bay, were they hard to get kilo some of those trucks! *
It may have been rough going, but players are sure glad she made it. Lady Luck become the icon for the Virginia Lottery in 1990, the same time that Lotto came to the state. Now she's busy tapping her wand and spreading good luck to the players of al Virginia's lottery games.
'I have to turbo-charge that wand every night because it gets sort of rundown from just flinging that lock out there,' Lady Luck says. Of course, she's reafly got to recharge it when it gets into the wrong hands... or paws.
'Bitsy [her dog] has run away with it and buried it several times, once in the closet, once in the backyard,* says Lady Luck. *We had to move that time because there were those fire hydrants up and down the street which made the neighbors really angry. In fact, we had to sneak out in the middle of the night and go to a new neighborhood. Let me teU you, the neighborhood association just Adn't care for that.'
