Trucks & Bucks proved to be extremely popular the moment the Scratcher game was introduced earlier this year. For the First time, the Virginia Lottery included prizes with four wheels in a Scratcher game. Within six weeks, players had already won several of the truck prizes.
Leroy B. (Bemie) Earhart, Jr., of Staunton has been a police officer in Staunton for 16 years. He is now the proud owner of a new 1998 Ford Ranger 4-door SuperCab -compliments of the Virginia Lottery. While off-duty, he stopped at the Royal Station, 1915 West Beverley Street in Staunton to purchase a Trucks & Bucks ticket.
“The last speed I scratched on my ticket was 65, which was a match,” said Earhart. “Then I scratched the prize box and saw I had won a truck. It’s great!” he added.
The other players who have won trucks playing “Trucks and Bucks” are; Alex Haskins of Red Oak, Jurlene Jackson of Shenandoah, Gene Parris of Woodbridge, Walter & Louise Manning of Glade Hill, Ralph Kitt of Manassas, and Ralph Jenkins of Hayes.
