People buy tickets for many reasons. Mr. Roadcap remembers one customer who bought 60 Bingo tickets. He asked the man if he wanted some variety - some different tickets. “He bought those 60 tickets for his mother,” he explains. “He said she likes to play each card, one by one - she doesn’t just play to win, she plays because she really has fun with it.”
Mr. Roadcap and his son Joe operate the Handy Dandy Market. Their part-time employees offer the same friendly service the owners feel is most important in a business like theirs. Mr. Roadcap knows the value of good employees. When his location earned extra money in a lottery incentive program, he gave that bonus to his employees. “They’re part of our success, and the extra money is just one way I can show them that I know how much they contribute.”
