Speaker for the firemen’s dinner Friday at Washington was Mrs. Dorothy Davis. Officers of the Washington Fire Company are Edward Clark, Jennings Hobson, Edward Bailey, Kermit Weakley and Steve Bailey. Emory C. Russell, manager of the Farmers and Merchants National Bank, Flint Hill Branch was made vice president. Pre-school youngsters registered Tuesday for enrollment in the fall a the local elementary school. Chris Adam Foster is registered with County Health Department Nurse, Mrs. Frances Thornton by his father Jesse F. Foster of Washington. Clifton W. Jenkins, Chief Forest Warden for Rappahannock County, says laws governing the use of outdoor fires will change on March 1 and suggests that individuals contact both the air pollution control officials and your Virginia Division of Forestry before burning outside.
