Airplane armorer
James Jackson (Jack) Settle Sr., 79, of Viewtown died on Monday, Feb. 22 at his residence.
He was bom on May 31, 1919, in Korea.
He served in £he Army Air Corps during World War II, he was an airplane armorer. After his honorable discharge, he worked as an automobile mechanic.
Mr. Settle retired as shop foreman at Dudley Martin Chevrolet in Manassas. He was a member of the Amissville Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy Grimsley Settle of Viewtown; one daughter, Deborah Settle Sawyer of Manassas; one son, James Jackson Settle Jr. of Manassas; two brothers, Kenneth Settle of Dover, Colo., and Randolph Settle of Viewtown; two sisters, Ruth Bruce of Culpeper and Shirley Wise of Reva; one granddaughter, Kimberely and two great grandchildren, Alexis and Ray.
He was predeceased by his parents, James Edward and
