Capt. Jeff Brown and Retired Senior Volunteer Program Coordinator Jeanie McNear met with a lively group of nine older residents, gathered for an information meeting on the Triad program, held at Trinity Episcopal Church last Friday. *

Triad is organized by the Sheriff’s Office and RSVP to assist older citizens with their safety.

The seniors’ telephone tree, which provides for daily check-up calls to seniors’ homes, had excellent responses for volunteer callers, McNear said.

She encouraged churches again to help her identify people who would benefit from a daily telephone call.

The program also needed volunteers to provide transportation, especially to medical appointments, she added.
