Beekeepers to meet

The Northern Piedmont Beekeepers Association will hold its February meeting at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 25 at the Culpeper Cooperative Extension Service building at the corner of Davis Street and South West Street, Culpeper. The program will feature Wyatt Mangum giving a slide presentation on “Queen Cells.” This is an excellent opportunity to learn how to assess what is happening in your colony of bees. Annual Transition Fair set

Do you know someone with special needs? Could they benefit from information on financial planning, employment assistance, housing, college support, assistive technology, adult education, counseling, and parent support? Runners, joggers sought

On Saturday, Feb. 27 the Shenandoah Valley Runners Club will host the Jim Barnett Park 3 Miler in Winchester. Runners and joggers from Rappahannock County are welcome to attend. The race will start at 9:30 a.m.; registration begins one hour earlier. Entry fees are $3 for SVR member, $4 for non-members and $1 for students. Call Tom Sullivan at 667-1098 for more information.

Cloverbud camp scheduled

There will be a 4-H Winter Cloverbud camp March 2728 at the Northern Virginia Educational Center in Front Royal. Interested children ages 5-8 years may pick up a registration form at the Rappahannock Extension Office or Rappahannock County Elementary School. For additional information call 675-3619.

April Kite Fly slated

The annual Ben Venue Kite Fly has been scheduled for April 17. Volunteers are needed and any interested organizations wishing to set up or participate should contact Heidi Eastham at 675-3444.
