movies lately-not to worry. RAAC, The Rappahannock Association for the Arts and the Community in Washington continues showing only the best.
In early January, before any of the movie awards or nominations^ RAAC had chosen “Saving Private Ryan” (April 16) “Life is Beautiful” (April 30), “Shakespeare in Love” (May 14) and “Elizabeth” (May 28) for showing this spring.
Often for political reasons or lack of funding for distribution, movies are only shown in one house in Washington, DC or are shown for a short time - RAAC shows those films, too. Films and documentaries with a social conscience are favorites of the Rappahannock movie goers. For this reason, “Eve’s Bayou” and “Slam” will be shown Feb. 26 and March 12.
