uniform. Another author, Mark Ragan of Edgewater, Md., is a submariner who has written a book on Civil War submarines and will display a model at the event. On Sunday, the music of the Civil War will come alive in the rich V sound of the Tascarora Brass, a 9 ^ piece brass band similar to the ole regimental bands of the armies ol that day. The uniformed band, which plays the old songs on the instruments of the period, will play at the bookshop at about 1 p.m. and 3:30 p.m., with a performance at the Faith Mountain store in between. Sunday’s program also will feature a discussion of the war in Rappahannock “ County. Dan Hitt of Goldvein, Va., author of “The Battle Mountain Affair” will discuss that fight, which occurred near the present-day Laurel Mills in July 1863. James R Gannon, owner of the bookshop, will present results of his research on the 1862 occupation of Rappahannock County by General Pope’s Union army.
