between Rapp 1 and Mad 3 at Madison Primary. Impressive offense and defense on the part of both teams made for an exciting game.
Mad 3 took an early lead and the score was 3-1 at halftime. But Rapp 1 came back in the second half and kicked one into their opponent’s net. Another goal was scored by Mad 3 to put them ahead 4-2. But just when you think the game is over, Rapp 1 rallied to score two goals in the last few minutes to end the game in a 4-4 tie.
The second game pitted Rapp 1 against Mad 2. It would have been understandable had these kids given up before they started, with complaints of being tired and the excessive heat. But this team wasn’t one for crying “uncle*.
Rapp 1 came out aggressively and took an early 2-0 lead. Mad 2 scored once in the second half, but Rapp 1 held them at bay and surprised them with another goal late in the second half for a 3-1 win.
