Studies students at RCHS recently finished a unit on solid waste. County Administrator John McCarthy took the students on a field trip to the Rappahannock County Landfill to discuss its operating procedures and the safe disposal of waste. Students were given an opportunity to visit Zuckerman’s Metal Recycling Center in Front Royal as well.
• Mrs. Patti Waddell’s Biology II Class at RCHS has just completed a CPR class where students received their certification to perform Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation. Mrs. Geraldine Payne, EMT and RCES teacher, helped to organize and instruct the class.
• The annual showing of “Schindler’s List” for Junior and Senior students at RCHS will be on June 1. This is being sponsored by the RCHS Social Studies Department.
• Ms. Christy Sander’s French I students made crepes for the end of the year food party on Tuesday, may 25. Tres bien!
• Mrs. Jeanne Grimes reported that the RCHS Girls’ Soccer Team went to the District Tournament in Brentsville on Friday, May 21. No scores were available at press time. Rappahannock has already qualified for the Regional Tournament which will be played on Tuesday, May 25.
