Concerts scheduled

Rappahannock County High School Band’s Spring Concert will be held June 1 at the Rappahannock County High School on Tuesday, June 1 at 7 p.tn. The public is cordially invited to this free concert. Features of the 1999 Spring Concert will be senior clarinetists Robin Kaye and Claire Sehadler and RCHS Band’s new cadence composed by percussionist Steve Kastuck featuring senior snare drummer, Amanda Brown. The evening program will also include Celebration for Winds by John Cacavas, Encanto by Robert Smith, excerpts from Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture and for the young-at-heart, Cartoon Symphony. The Rappahannock Elementary School Band will have a concert on June 3 at 7 p.m. at the elementary school gym. All are welcome.

DARE Day at RCES

DARE and Field Day will be held on Friday, May 28 at Rappahannock County Elementary School. This wonderful day is made possible through the efforts of Captain Jeff Brown and the Rappahannock Sheriff’s Office, Miss Carol Nowakoski, RCES P.E. Teacher and the efforts of many volunteers. Civil War Days set

Sperryville will host Civil War Days, a two-day event featuring talks by Civil War authors, music of the 1860’s war years, and discussions by local authorities on how the war touched the county. The events will take place Saturday and Sunday, May 29 and 30 at the Old Sperryville Bookshop and at Faith Mountain Company, sponsors of the free event that is open to the public.The bookshop can be reached at 987-8444.
