A grand birthday party marked the 50th anniversary
of the Rappahannock County garden Club.
More than a 100 members, former members and friends gathered at the Fauquier Springs Country Club to celebrate the occasion at a bountiful luncheon.
Clubs from neighboring communities were well represented and Shenandoah District President and Past President, Mrs. K.L. Chapman and Mrs. Ronald F. Sturm were honored guests.
The Madison Garden Club honored the club’s birthday with a contribution to the Nature Camp which is operated by the Virginia Federation of Garden Clubs.
Members Celine Siira and Carol Miller had created table centerpieces which carried out the golden anniversary theme and gave the whole room a mood of festive gaiety.
Contributing to the party atmosphere was music by harpist Lorraine Espinola for which member Mary Priest was responsible. Programs for the day were designed by Florence Nordone and executed by Angela Wood. They displayed a reproduction of an
