• DARE/Field Day will be held on May 28 at RCES. This wonderful day is made possible through the efforts of Captain Jeff Brown and the Sheriff’s Office, Miss Carol Nowakoski, RCES RE. teacher, and the efforts of many volunteers like you. If you have not yet volunteered to help with this year’s event, please call Jan Makela at 087-8259 or 937-5718, or check in at the Volunteer table (by the DARE tent) when you arrive. Students may purchase bag lunches. Lunch is provided for exhibitors. Visitors must provide their own. Drinks are available for all.
• Parents need to be certain that their children dress in cool clothing appropriate for participating in athletic events. Though water will be available, sending a plastic bottle with extra water might be a good idea.
• The RCHS Environmental Studies Class (under the direction of Mrs. Beth Gall) will be finishing their year working on the Forest Ecology/Bio-diversity Study Plot on Dr. and Mrs. John Tole’s property on Rock Mills Road. They will be sampling for small mammals and insects. This project has been a cooperative effort between Mrs. Gall’s students and Mr. Ed Rissler’s seventh grade students at RCES.
