Bob Weinberg and his wife Wendy recently returned from a trip to England, Wendy’s homeland. Bob was also recently in Atlanta, attending an American Bar Association conference. He is a member of the House of Delegates for the Association.
Bob Weinberg is one of two new members of the county Board of Zoning Appeals. He replaces the late Sid Gottleib, who Weinberg says are “some big shoes to fill.”
An attorney by trade, Weinberg sees this position as a form of “Pro-bono legal service” to the county. “It’s helpful to have a lawyer on a quasi-judicial board” like the BZA, says Weinberg. He also sees the importance of planning and zoning issues to this, or any other, locality.
Weinberg was born in New York during the Depression. He attended Stuyvesant High School in New York City, which has drawn comparisons to Jefferson High School in Fairfax County. Weinberg received his undergraduate degree from Yale University in 1953.
He then went to England as a Fullbright Exchange student at the London School of Economics, where he studied for two years. He also served in
