Carolyn Reeder, whose books for young readers are set in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, will be at the book shop on Saturday from 11 a.m. to noon. She is the author of six historical novels for young people, including “Shades of Gray,” which takes place during the Civil War, “Grandpa’s Mountain,” set during the 1930’s Depression, and ' “Moonshiner’s Son,” set during the Prohibition era. She will read from “Moonshiner’s Son” and sign copies of all her books.

Along with her husband Jack, she has written three books on the history of Shenandoah National Park and the people who were displaced by its creation. The couple live in Washington, D.C. and have a second home in Rappahannock County.
