As one might expect, there are some adjustments for Father Pokorsky to make. For instance, in the city he would be constantly awakened by the sound of police, fire and ambulance sirens. Here, he was awakened one morning by a cow that had gotten out of a nearby fence and into the church parking lot.
Father Pokorsky observed that his biggest adjustment has been getting use to the details of running a small parish. In the big parishes there were housekeepers, janitors and office staff, luxuries he doesn’t have at St. Peter’s. “Here, you’re it,” he says.
