Construction
A big moment for the county's
educational system.
School Superintendent Dr. David Gangel called it “an important day in the life of our school.” Last Tuesday, ground breaking ceremonies kicked off construction of the addition to Rappahannock County „ High School. On top of the addition, there are repairs ‘ for the bad sections of the roof. In addition, we hope to have new ball fields soon - perhaps in time for ' spring sports next year. While some people grumble about how much money is spent on education, most people will hopefully agree that this is a worthwhile investment. The students and teachers will benefit from a better learning environment, not only with better facilities and equipment but also without having to worry about getting rained on. And as far as the ball fields, anyone who has watched a sporting event at RCHS is aware of the need for improved facilities. The players and coaches , will benefit, and parents who come to the games - should also welcome the new fields. It’s nice to see this county’s leaders move forward and support positive change, as opposed to maintaining a status quo that does nothing to help the stu, dents and athletes of this county.
