All 11 candidates for the Rappahannock County Board of Supervisors have accepted invitations to participate in a pre-election forum sponsored by the Rappahannock League for Environmental Protection.
James P. Gannon, the newly elected president of RLEP, announced that the forum will be held at The Theatre in Washington, on the evening of Thursday, Oct. 7, starting at 7 p.m. “I am very pleased that all candidates running for the county’s board of supervisors have agreed to participate in this important preelection event,” Mr. Gannon said. “We look forward to a thorough airing of issues that will be facing the county’s governing body in the years ahead.”
The RLEP forum will focus on such issues as Rappahannock’s economy, future growth and development, the environment, planning and zoning, county finances and taxes. Another supervisor candidate forum sponsored by the Rappahannock Education Association and others will focus on education and school-related issues.
At the RLEP event, Mr. Gannon will serve as moderator, and questions will be asked by a panel of RLEP
