Shortly after 5 p.m. on Sept. 26, two teenagers were injured in a one-car accident on Route 678 near the intersection of U.S. 211 East in, Amissville. The driver, a 17 year-old female, was trying to allude police pursuit when she lost control of her 1996 Toyota and struck a guard rail. As of Sept. 27, she was still being treated for various injuries at Fauquier Hospital. The passenger, a 16 year-old male, was treated and released for minor injuries. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $8000. The driver has been charged with reckless driving.
