Taking a cue from its Expansion Subcommittee’s recommendations, the full Library Board last Thursday voted to reject , any expansion of the library facilities for the purpose of accommodating additional computers. In a related action, the Board also moved to have the Expansion Committee continue its attempts to identify pro bono architectural assistance to develop expansion concepts for the facility, in the event that expansion might prove necessary for purposes other than computer space.
The Expansion Committee’s evaluation comes as a result of an offer by the Friends , °f the Library to fund an expansion of the library, and this initial rejection does not necessarily mean that the Board will reject _the expansion concept altogether.
