encouraging industry to locate in the county. Frazier commented that something could be located in the Aileen plant. Bird supports encouraging more industries like Faith Mountain Company to come here. Bear would like to see more specialty farms like Sunnyside Farms come into Rappahannock County.

The question of how to generate more revenue drew varied responses. Frazier supports encouraging home grown businesses and more tourism. Oyster believes there should be more volunteer programs to keep spending under control. Brown said that the county should come up with ways to keep local money from being spent outside the county. Welch favors more small business and light industry.

Lee cautioned that severely taxing new businesses would discourage them from locating here. Bird said that government has to be careful about keeping spending down and taxes affordable. Most of the other candidates feel that more money should come from the state and/or federal governments.
