Hobart J. Backe; one son, John Robert Backe; one daughter, Lillian Backe; one grandson, Kenneth Backe; one brother, Marshall Burke and six sisters, Lizzie Dodson, Helen Jenkins, Laura Jenkins, Mandy Jacobs, Dolly Hanzer and Mary Burke.
Survivors include one daughter, Peggy A. Mills and her husband George of Culpeper; one son, Eugene J. Backe and his wife Daisy of Culpeper; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren.
Additional survivors include one sister, Martha B. Dodson of Culpeper and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Oct. 12 at CloreEnglish Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Marvin C. Cook officiating. Interment was in Fairview Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Clyde Edwards, Billy Fincham, Arley Estes, Bemie Jenkins, Phillip Lee Keyser and Scotty Edwards.
Honorary pallbearers were Tuck Pulliam, Joe Lawson, Roger Mitchell, J.C. Creel, George Beard and Ken Gieselman.
