Thomas Dowell
School: Junior, Wakefield Country Day School at Huntly Home: Castleton Accomplishments: Thomas Dowell is an outstanding student athlete at Wakefield Country Day School, Huntly. He has represented Wakefield at many national academic events including participation in the st^te-wide Hugh O’Brien Leadership Conference where he was one of eight finalists nominated to represent Virignia nationally. Thomas is a vice-chair person for the national model Organization of American States held annually in Washington, D.G, and has traveled to Dublin, Ireland to participate in the Model United Nations. Thomas has been awarded numerous academic and athletic awards at two national Junior Classical League conventions. This past summer he attended the University of Virginia’s Summer Enrichment Program studying law with high school uniors from across the nation. He has recently been given the ionbr of participating in the ^residential Scholars Program to je held this spring in Washington, D.C. At WCDS Thomas is taking AP Physics and Government. He would like to attend the University of Virginia upon graduation from Wakefield. Thomas participates on the WCDS soccer, basketball and lacrosse teams and has been selected as a conference soccer MVP. Community involvement: Thomas is treasurer of WCDS’s Key Club and participated in the countywide roadside cleanup effort last spring and Key Club activities at Sunny Slope Home for Adults in Flint Hill. He is an active member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church were he leads the altar servers and teaches third grade religion classes. He works part-time at Four and Twenty Blackbirds in Flint Hill. Thomas lives in Castleton with fets parents, Marsha and Stephen Dbwell, and brothers Stephen $nd Joseph.
