The Amissville Homemakers meet the first Monday of each month at the Amissville Baptist Church at 7:30 p.m. The topic for the November meeting is “Making Thanksgiving Decorations.”

Most of you should have received the Annual Fund Drive and Information Guide from the Amissville Volunteer Fire and Rescue Company in your mail box this week. I didn’t know how many call our fire department handles in both Culpeper and Rappahannock Counties!
Last year they responded to 487 calls and they have already run 400 so far this year. And did you know that the tanker truck is an antique? Yes, it is 26 years old. I only live five minutes away from the fire house, so I have kind of taken it for grant
