One ol the most important decisions you will make in buying or selling real estate is selecting an agent. Some people make the mistake of calling an agency instead of an agent The person on floor duty w ill help most of the time when you call an agency or franchise This person may be a rookie (green salesperson) or an office hound (the ones who come to the office, read the newspaper, drink coffee and wait for something to happen) There is an expression in our business and it goes like this "In the real estate business there are 45% coming into the business, 45% leaving the business and 10% doing the business " Be sure you hire one of the 1 <)'4 who are serious ’ about real estate Ask them how long > they have been in business Do they [ know your area ’ Do they work real estate pan time ’ What kind of ongoing education do they have’ What kind of designations do they hold, such as CRI. CRS, CRB. ABR, CCIM. RLT, etc ? How many sales have they sue eessfully completed this year? Last year'7 Do they provide multiple listing service? Do they have a marketing plan for your property'’ Will they promote your property on the Internet? If so ask to see their web page or pages. Last, but not least, hire someone you feel comfortable with, someone you can trust, and easily ' relate to.
