* PrC Raymond Allen of Flint Hill will be the speaker for the PTA meeting Tuesday at Rappahannock County Elementary School. His professional career has included the practice of medicine and surgery and he was an assistant surgeon at the Mayo Clinic in 1933-36. Dr. Allen has traveled extensively and continues working part-time while enjoying country life in Rappahannock where he is busy landscaping, gardening and relaxing at his home Stone House Hollow on the Fodderstack Road. Chuck and Nan Perdue of Woodville will appear in a program of folk music which will be held at the Rappahannock Library Oct. 17. They have a broad background of performances, having appeared at many dubs, festivals and given numerous concerts as well as appearing in educational Rims and programs. They will present a program of southern folk songs, sea chanties, topical songs and parodies written by Chuck, accompanied by a variety of instruments. In a photograph Henry Jackson of Sperryville proudly displays the string of pike which he caught in the river near Washington. The seven pike weighed 15 1/2 pounds and they measured from 18 inches up.

Thursday, Oct. 10, 1974 Rappahannock's Supervisor at their meeting last Quirsday appropriated funds to hire an assistant for SS&nty registrar Mary Cleverley. County electoral jtjfcrd chairman James F. Massie told the Supervisors Jjiat the state electoral board now requires all county Registrars to have an assistant. Although the state reimburses the county for the registrar’s salary, the county nust pay the assistant’s salary.
