Shortly before 'transferring from Rappahannock County to Culpeper, Virginia State Police Trooper Wayne Sumner investigated two motor vehicle accidents in the Castleton area.

On Oct. 5 at about 4:30 p.m.. Trooper Sumner was called to a two-vehicle collision on Rt. 622, one-half mile from Rt. 627.

A juvenile residing in Castleton driving a 1983 Ford 2-door had come around a curve on the w rong side of the road, and sideswiped a 1989 Ford pickup truck, driven by Tony Jenkins, 26, of Stanley.

Both drivers escaped injury; each vehicle sustained $2000 in damages. The juvenile was charged with failure to drive right of the center of the road.

Less than two hours later, Trooper Sumner was called back to the Castleton area to investigate a second accident which occurred at about 6:15 p.m.
