Also, the Ruritans need help finishing the acommunity center, also at Stuart Field. This building when finished will be able to be used by the community of Amissville for lots of activities. For donations call Charlie Mills.
Is everyone getting ready for trick or treaters? We are at our house, and so are some area organizations.
First we have Muskrat Havens Annual “Haunted Hay Ride” to be held Oct. 22-23 and Oct. 29-30 from 7-10 p.m. The gang at the Haven really scare the dickens out of you. We went last year and it was loads of fun, The twins (who at the time were only three) loved it so much they went twice! Come out and see for yourself how much fun it is. For more information you can call 937-5191.
On Oct. 29-31 the RAA will be having a “Haunted Bam” at Hungry Run Farm, South Poes Road. The tours will start at 5:30 p.m. and go until 9 p.m. The admission, which goes to support our youth in RAA, will be $5 for adults and $3 for children. Refreshments will also be available. These kids put a lot of time and effort into getting the bam ready so come on out and get scared!
And finally on Halloween night the Amissville Fire Department will hold its annual Halloween Party from 7-9 p.m. Games, food,, drinks and of course “costume contest” are on the menu. Donations of candy and baked goods are needed, please call Sarah Latham at 937-4410 or Sandy Carter at 937-4218. The party is always lots of fun, so bring the kids and enjoy some treats.
