Each of the performers who will appear on Nov. 6 began their autobiographical performing after taking Julie Portman’s autobiography, workshop, “Creating My Autobiography.” Julie Portman, artistic director of Ki Theatre, has been teaching her autobiography workshop for the past five summers and plans to offer another of her workshop series next summer. These workshops are open to anyone who wishes to write autobiographical material for any purpose. Sallie Morgan speaks for all of the performers appearing in “No Ordinary Person” when she says: “As a result of Julie’s autobiography workshops, a large number of us have continued to focus our lives by writing ‘creative non-fiction’ stories. I have come to realize how many amazing stories there are of people’s resilience in the face of challenges.
