Flu clinic days set

The Rappahannock County Health Department will offer influenza clinics on the following days: Oct. 15 from 9 a.m. to 12; Oct. 18 from 2 to 4 p.m. and Oct. 28 from 1 to 3 p.m. Flu cost is $7 for general public. Pneumonia (recommended for those over 65) cost is $14 for general public.

Hunter Education course offered

A Hunter Education course will be offered Oct. 23 and 24 from 1 to 6 p.m. at the Amissville fire hall. Pre-registration is required. For additional information call Jim Bankston at 937-5192.

Friends of Sherertz to meet

The public is cordially invited to meet with Larry C. Sherertz, incumbent candidate for Sheriff of Rappahannock County at an informal gathering in the Flint Hill Volunteer Fire Hall from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Otit. 19. Sheriff Sherertz will be available to personally meet with attendees and discuss local issues. Refreshments will be provided.

Autumn tennis instruction

Anyone interested in tennis lessons should contact Hunt Harris at the Ragged Mountain Resource Center, 987-3366. He will be offering a limited number of sessions this autumn for adults as well as youth on all levels (beginner through advanced competition). There is a sliding-scale fee system based on the number of participants in a group, and individual instruction is also available.

Gorfein to speak

Meredith Gorfein, the Democratic candidate for the 31st District seat in the Virginia House of Delegates, will be speaking at the Hearthstone School in Castleton Friday, Oct. 15 at 10 a.m. Hearthstone School is located one-half mile from the Castleton fire hall. The public is invited to attend.
