VDOT to hold
annual meeting
The Virginia Department of Transportation will hold a Transportation Program meeting for the nine counties in the Culpeper District on Tuesday, July 17 at 9 a.m. at the VDOT District Office Auditorium.
The meetings are held annually to gather input from county officials, city and town representatives, other elected officials and citizens on transportation needs and desires, as well as updates on existing or planned programs.
Members of the Commonwealth Transportation Board as well as staff from VDOT and the Department of Rail and Public Transportation will also receive information on public transportation and ride sharing. Comments will not be taken on Transportation Enhancement grants or secondary roads.
This year, the speaking order for the nine counties in the Culpeper VDOT District will be: Madison, Orange, Rappahannock, Albemarle, Culpeper, Fauquier, Fluvanna, Greene and Louisa. Towns and cities will fall under the appropriate county.

Come celebrate the completion of the new home of Marjorie Moore and her son, Kim Hall, at a potluck dinner at the Washington Town Hall on Saturday, July 14 at 6 p.m. As you may recall, they lost their home, their pets, and all that they owned to fire this past Christmas holiday season.
Bring a covered dish, salad, or dessert and a small housewarming gift. A suggested list included a Bible, dictionary, small measuring tape, yard stick, spices, jello mold, paring knives, pliers, bathroom hand towels, clothes pins, sewing notions (thread, pins, etc.)
