The final interim priests at Trinity Episcopal Church during the Sabbatical period for ^he rector the Rev. Jennings W. Hobson are a couple from New Zealand, Stephen and Pamela Warnes.
Both are ordained and they are working together leading the worship services at Trinity. They will be filling in on Sundays through Aug. 12. Pamela Warnes will also be teaching Contemplative Prayer during bible study times on Wednesday mornings.
l Although they currently Eve in Christchurch, New Zealand, where they have $rown children and growing grandchildren, Stephen is priginally from England, and Pamela is originally from South Africa, and they lived $nd worked in both countries before moving to New Zealand. J Stephen Warnes’ current occupation is Bishop’s Chaplain. He assists the bishop of Christchurch with such administrative matters as screening potential priests and seeing to their training gnd working with parishes in $he process of searching for replacement priests. • He also does a certain amount of general trouble shooting for the diocese. In past assignments he has yvorked as university chaplain as well as a parish priest. J Pamela Warnes gives spiritual direction in the Ignatian tradition and leads guided prayer for parishes and other groups. She also trains spiritual directors. • She has worked as a famiy therapist and parish priest. She was accepted for training or ordained ministry to Desmond Tutu, and she received some of her training for ordained ministry in Manchester, Mass. ! While they are visiting in Rappahannock County they are staying at the home of Dawn and Brad Fisher in Washington. Following this period they will travel to JSurope and then Pamela Warnes will return to the feoston, Mass, area for further fctudy. I t _
