Historic survey

The Board of Supervisors put their stamp on a resolution supporting a grass-roots effort to participate in the Virginia Department of Historic Resources’ (DHR) “Cost Share Program” that is designed to create a database of Rappahannock County cultural resources.

The initial program would entail the completion of a cultural resources survey begun in the 1980’s by David Edwards, now head of the Winchester office of the DHR, and the creation of the County’s cultural resources database.

This data collected could be used by the County and its residents in a number of ways: it could support preservation
