Club, the 4-H Honor Club, and the 4-H Dog Club.
Soon we will be offering after school 4-H activities at the Rappahannock County Elementary School. Four-H is already very active in the elementary school.
The Talking with T. J. program is sponsored by Virginia Cooperative Extension and teaches fourth graders diversity. The 4-H Embryology Project has also been utilized in the elementary school, as has the Master Gardeners’ Ready, Set, Grow program.
The Rappahannock County 4-H program also offers several workshops throughout the year. The 4-H Super Sitters course is taught to youth 13 years and older in cooperation with the Family and Consumer Science agent from Culpeper. This course instructs students on handling emergencies during babysitting along with learning proper nutrition for youngsters.
The interactive computer program, Power Point, is offered through individual clubs and special workshops held at the Extension Office. This fairly new computer program has become a state competition in 4-H.
The 4-H program coincides well with other youth programs in Rappahannock County. In Girl Scouts, some requirements for earning badges can be accomplished through the 4-H program, so youth who participate in both youth organizations can get credit for the work they
