Miss Elsie Cora Dodson, 91, of Flint Hill died Sunday, July 8 at Warren Memorial Hospital in Front Royal.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 12 at Flint Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery at 2 p.m. with Rev. Jon Heddleston. The family will have a time of fellowship following the service at the Flint Hill Fire Hall.
Miss Dodson was born Nov. 10, 1909 in Bean Hollow near Flint Hill, daughter of the late Fred William and Sarah Virginia Dodson. She received a B.S. degree in elementary education from Madigon College and did additional studies at University of Virginia.
Miss Dodson then began a 23 year teaching career for Rappahannock County Elementary School.
She was also a cattle farmer.
Miss Dodson was an inactive member of Calvary Episcopal Church in Front
Washington Baptist Church.
She was dedicated to her community serving as an officer of the Rappahannock Retired Teachers Association, former officer of the Mental Health Association, charter
