Four-H recognizes the accomplishments of youth in many ways throughout the year. The Culpeper, Madison, Rappahannock Farm Fair is a competitive show where 4H members get the opportunity to show their 4-H projects, win placements on their projects, and, in some cases, sell the projects.
The selling of a project enables the 4-H member to pay the bills accumulated by maintaining the 4-H project, and if there are any funds left over from the sale, most 4-H parents put that money in the bank for college tuition. So, in supporting a 4-H member through the purchase of their 4-H project, you are also encouraging a higher education for that 4-H member.
4-H members can compete in the county, district, and state presentation and Share the Fun contests. Junior 4-H members can advance from the county to the district competition, competing against 4-H members from 19 counties. Senior members can advance to state competition.
