RAA to conduct registrations

Rappahannock Athletic Association will conduct its fall season youth softball and baseball registrations beginning Sunday, July 15 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Stuart Field, US 211 in Amissville between the Amissville Methodist Church and Hackley’s Store.

Registration costs $25 per child (residents of Rappahannock, Culpeper and Fauquier counties, five years old through 16 years of age) and includes ball playing August through October and a tee-shirt. This is an excellent opportunity for both new and experienced players to acquire additional instruction and playing time in a laid-back, fun filled atmosphere.

Summer trail rides

The Rappahannock Hunt is currently sponsoring its annual summer trail rides. On Sunday, July 15 the ride will be held at Montpelier near Sperryville at 10 a.m. and on Saturday, July 21 at the O’Bannon Farm at Woodville at 10 a.m.

Clothes closet, bake sale set

The First Baptist Church in Washington will be sponsoring another clothes closet on Saturday, July 14 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be clothes for all sizes and ages. The clothes are free, donations will be accepted.

Clinic will be open July 11

The Rappahannock Free Clinic, a local operation of the Fauquier Free Clinic Inc., is currently open on the first and third Wednesdays of each month. Because of the July 4 holiday, the clinic will be open on July 11 and again on July 18. Patient registration is from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Rappahannock County Public Health Department Building.

The Free Clinic is a cooperative effort of local doctors, nurses, and administrators to provide excellent primary health care and medicines to Rappahannock area citizens with limited means. All care is provided at no charge by volunteers. For additional information call 347-0394.

Activities at Dreamtime

Making Herbal Beer will be held July 28 from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Dreamtime Center for Herbal Studies near Washington. The cost is $60 and includes all materials. Spend a delightful day with Tara Welty learning all the howtos of herbal beer brewing.

Kitchen Cosmetics will be featured at Dreamtime on Aug. 18 from 9:30 to 4:30. Learn how to make, package, label and market your own natural health and beauty cosmetics. Lots of recipes will be given and through demonstration, you will create your own shampoos, hair rinses, facial toners, foot pow- ’ ders and more. The cost is $60 which includes all materials.
