The minion, whatever it was, probably caught hell for his inability to bring sustenance to his master, but that’s not my problem. A few fewer nocturnal creatures in my midst is more than welcome at this point.
I left the kitchen to check on the state of my garden—I expected that the bear might have attacked my daikon, or even the Tasty Jade cucumbers, as retribution for his food frustrations, but all looked just fine. I know that he is going to go after the super-sweet corn when its ready—but that won’t be for a month or two and I’ll worry about that in about that period of time.
All appeared to be safe and sound in my world of flora. Nothing torn out of the ground, nothing trampled by size twenty-three quintuple E’s—in ovoid form, mind you. All seemed glorious.
