The Amissville Volunteer Fire Department will he affected by the evolving nature of the Clevenger’s Corner Village Center. Currently, when there is a home or business on fire in the Clevenger’s Corner area, the Amissville VFD, five miles away from the intersection of US 211 and Route 229, is one of three fire departments to respond.

The other two are the Little Fork Volunteer Fire & Rescue Department, located four miles down Route 229 from the intersection, and the Warrenton Volunteer Fire Company, located 7.3 miles away. If any among these three cannot respond, other fire departments fill in.

Three fire departments can bring about 6,000 gallons of water with them in pumpers and tankers. A
